The Glory of Taiwan -- KSS emerges as the world’s third-largest wiring accessories manufacturer

Chiu Chun-hsiung, Chairman of Kai Suh Suh (KSS) Enterprise, grew up in the Chi-gu District, Tainan City. As he borrowed money from a financial institution, the bank suggested him to set up his factory in Sanchong City, Taipei County (now known as the Sanchong District, New Taipei City).

But after careful consideration, Chiu still decided to start his own business in his hometown – Tainan. At that time, Taiwan’s industrial development just started. Chiu observed that most of Taiwanese electric, electronics and hydropower plants still did not know how to use the so-called “wiring accessories,” and that no similar products appeared on the market.

He was convinced that these wiring accessories and devices would become indispensable products for the global industrial development in the future because most electric, wire and cable-related products need the wiring accessories. As expected, KSS, which Chiu founded from scratch, has become the Asian largest and world’s third-largest wiring accessories manufacturer.

KSS, established in 1969, specializes in the manufacturing of nylon cable ties, wrapping band, wiring ducts (slotted), type cable markers, nylon cable gland, flexible conduits, cable clamps, cable clips, wire connectors, and tubings, as well as thousands of wiring accessories and devices.

Thanks to mold design and die-casting technique, together with the use of high-performance injection molding machines and extrusion molding machines, KSS can design and develop a wide variety of wiring products within the shortest possible time to meet customer needs all over the world.

In 2007, KSS set up its global operations headquarters at the Dujia Industrial Park in the Chi-gu District, Tainan City. The headquarters uses a fully automated production process, combines a logistics distribution center, and integrates a ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) computer operating system.

KSS wiring products from inventory to pick-up and delivery are controlled by its computer operating system. Such approaches not only help to achieve the goal of labor cost reduction and mass production, but also meet customer needs of high quality and fast delivery.

KSS adheres to “Made in Taiwan” products and successfully exports its wiring accessories with its owned brand “KSS” to 126 countries around the globe. In recent years, the self-owned brand “KSS” from Taiwan has gradually established itself as a “professional wiring equipment manufacturer” all over the world.

At present, KSS long-term partners include Taiwan’s well-known companies such as the Taipei Railway Station, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Building near the Taipei Railway Station, National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST), Taipei World Trade Center, Taiwan High Speed Rail Corp (THSRC), Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC), Kaohsiung Rapid Transit Corporation (KRTC), Chunghwa Telecom, Shihlin Electric, Formosa Plastics Group, China Steel Corporation, and Grand Hyatt Taipei Hotel.

Under the leadership of the founder Chiu, his employees are very committed and loyal to KSS. Today, the second generation has been gradually engaged in this family-own business to be a great addition to the company by introducing digital thinking, actively implementing new digital transformation projects, and putting customer relationship management and brand marketing first.

Thanks to its long-term persistence and efforts, KSS was named one of the “Taiwan’s Top 100 Brands” in 2011 by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). In 2013, the Tainan City-based wiring accessories manufacturer won the three categories – “Excellent Enterprise,” “Outstanding Contribution,” and “Best Product” of the “National Brand YuShan Awards.”

In addition, from 2015 to 2017, KSS has also received the prestigious “Taiwan Excellence Awards” for the third straight year as a result of the company’s high-quality and innovative products. Under the chairman Chiu’s firm leadership, KSS will continue to expand its international markets of wiring accessories to reach a new record high again.
