Jiuh Wan develops innovative fire-resistant clothing to increase personal safety

Although Ding Sheng-li, Chairman of Jiuh Wan Enterprise Co., failed at the beginning of his own business, he still has an abiding passion for textiles and continues to persist with his ambition.

Ding started from scratch by choosing flame resistant clothing. He not only led his company to continue developing a wide variety of products that lead the pack, but also created his owned brand “Oxinforce®” in 2013. The self-owned brand “Oxinforce®” now has become synonymous with innovative protective clothing.

Jiuh Wan, founded in 1999, specializes in the manufacturing of flame resistant yarn, flame resistant clothing, flame resistant blankets, flame retardant sewing thread, flame retardant ropes, flame retardant elastic band, flame retardant ribbons, flame retardant textiles, flame retardant non-woven fabrics, fire blankets, and protective overalls, as well as personal protective equipment for firefighters, such as fire resistant apparel, fire retardant gloves, fire retardant hoods, and wildland fire face masks.

The company’s products can be applied from personal protective equipment to steel plants, petrochemical plants, cement plants, mines, firefighting, military and police, aerospace, automobiles, racing cars, and high voltage operation.

In an effort to protect the Earth and place emphasis on environmental protection, Jiuh Wan develops a full range of products that use high-performance permanent flame retardant fibers and yarns. The company neither uses any chemicals in the post-processing, nor adopts any cancer-causing materials such as asbestos and glass fiber that are often used in the industrial development.

Compared with other fire resistant textiles in the market, Oxinforce® products are durable, comfortable and odor-resistant. Their flame retardant effects will not disappear as a result of washing or friction.

At present, Jiuh Wan also forms a strategic alliance with the world’s leading high-performance fire-retardant fiber manufacturers, such as SGL Group of the U.K., Dupont of the U.S., and Toray of South Korea, as well as Teijin, Kanekaron and Daiwabo of Japan. They have been committed to developing technical textiles used for fire safety and industrial applications.

Meanwhile, Jiuh Wan combines the up-, mid-, and downstream of Taiwan’s fire-retardant fiber manufacturers with the aim of providing its customers all over the world with one-stop service from yarn, fabric, clothing to a full range of tailor-made solutions at reasonable prices.

In addition, Jiuh Wan worked with Chapman Innovations, founded in Salt Lake City, U.S., to develop a series of Carbon X products, most of which include personal protective gear for racing cars plus fire resistant apparel and equipment.

Jiuh Wan is the only professional manufacturer of self-developed “European firefighter clothing” in Taiwan. A number of the company’s textile products have obtained the CE certifications by BTTG (British Textile Technology Group) – a U.K.-based world-renowned and independent organization providing an extensive range of testing and certification services worldwide. Jiuh Wan is also a qualified supplier of firefighter suits, hat and shoes, approved by the National Fire Agency, the Ministry of Interior.

Ding has devoted his energies to the research and development of fire retardant fabrics and technical textiles for nearly two decades. Under his firm leadership, Jiuh Wan has not only launched competitive products, but also succeeded in helping its customers to take root in the U.S. protect clothing market and become well-known brands.

The company has participated in a wide variety of important programs from Taiwan and abroad. These programs include built-in components of Hummers in the Iraq War, the sponsorship of racing suits for Schumacher, a series of material supply for outer space projects, materials for inner tubes of pneumatic tires for racing cars, suits for sewer workers, and fire-retardant fabrics for cars of Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR). Jiuh Wan aims to provide the personal safety of each user.
